Edward Kennedy, who su ered a seizure at an inaugural lunch or Democratic President Barack Obama on Tuesday, has a brain tumor that doctors say could ha e caused the collapse.Here are some questions and answers about the Massachusetts Democrat's condition:Q Could the tumor ha e caused Kennedy's collapseA Yes. Kennedy was diagnosed in May with malignant glioma, a type o brain tumor that is incurable. "Anything that irritates the brain can cause seizures," Ewend says this includes swelling or pressure, low blood le els o seizure medication, low blood sugar le els or e en ha ing drunk some alcohol. "It is not an ominous sign to ha e a single seizure," Ewend says.Dr. Jay Brooks o the Ochsner Clinic in Baton Rouge said his brain tumor patients o ten ha e seizures i e months or so a ter chemotherapy or radiation treatment because the brain has swollen in response to the treatment.Q Is Kennedy taking medication to pre ent seizuresA. Kennedy has not released much in ormation about his treatment. But, Ewend said, "I you had a patient who had a brain tumor and who had presented with a seizure, it would be pretty common to gi e the patient medication and or the patient to stay on the medication or li e."Q. A CT or computed tomography scan, a special type o X-ray, will tell doctors i there is bleeding in the brain, swelling, or some other serious de elopment.

The Jackson ille, lorida-based company reported ourth-quarter net income o $247 million or 63 cents a share,compared with $365 million or 86 cents a share a year earlier.
Excluding a charge o 27 cents related to the Greenbrier,which has seen its business all o rapidly due to the slowingo the U.S economy, CSX earned 90 cents a share. That compares with analyst expectations o 90 cents a share,according to Reuters Estimates. The company pre-announced results last week and said itwould not be pro iding a long-term outlook. CSX reported re enue o $2.67 billion in the ourth quarter,compared with $2.58 billion a year earlier. Rail reight olumes were down 10 percent in the quartercompared with the same period in 2007.
