A major "management alter" HEC to the next re-entry This appears to be re olutionary...

This sector emerged not a phenomenon o mode but o my meeting with E e Chiapello Pro essor o management at HEC, Editor's note. This major gi es an important place in history in his teaching. And i seen rom the outside, this is re olutionary or a school o commerce as HEC, it is all simply because it is more com ortable or e eryone to think that the irst school o rance is necessarily conser ati e and de oid o critical spirit.
The image o CET appears, prima acie, ar remo ed rom that o the AC...
This impression stems rom the act that e erything alternati e is associated with an idea o amateurism... But we belie e that criticism and re orm o the management are also serious that the management itsel and require the same pro essionalism. In this case, should not the di erent qualities, but the additional quali ications: reedom o thought, creati ity and boldness. In sum, we ad ocate a true "entrepreneurial", this close positioning that we adopt a broad de inition, co ering both the Intrapreneurship as ields o actions other than traditional.
Is it to say that you intend to question the practices o management course today
Some, well sure, but not all. We exercise our right o in entory, simply. We consider that the current techniques are impro ed and that re orm is possible. Note that our economic model meets its limits is nothing extraordinary, what we propose to do, is to learn the lesson and train managers with a coup ahead o the changes that we will not miss li e.
Say that it is wrong to pollute or to ha e type practices Enron is one thing. It is another to ask i this speech has tangible implications and a real impact on organizations. We hope o course students attracted by di erent routes, but not only. We also belie e that it should be "traditional" open and conscious managers and themes that we o er are equally used to prepare or the management o the uture. This is a historical perspecti e is necessary...
What orm will it take this "re orm" o the management
As long as there is no major crisis, this re orm will be in the orm o a series o experiments and incremental changes initiated by managers o progress. Some common realities o the company began by be marginal oothold. When one understands this and has a historic retreat on the management, it eels much more ree to inno ate.
With this major "management alter", it will there ore be to deepen the way practice management...
The "management alter" die CET intends to dig issues with neutrality and ery practical way. A ery interesting example: Mutualism. Why the limit in some areas The ideological issues and principles, it will be to consider what means manager egalitarian way, or what still may be a business without an owner. Why not work on models o companies ne er seen be ore or only per ormed in limited market niches or in other countries
How to manage human resources has e ol ed dramatically in recent years...
The link between the company and its workers is greatly distended. The requirement o mobility, the precarisation o employment are now part o the décor, which radically changes the relationship to the irm. Our students better placed than many others on the market, they are less willing to in est in a company in which they would ind no sense. Yet one o the engines o the management re orm is precisely this search or a new meaning to the company.
Students attracted to the major "management alter" ha e a speci ic pro ile
or most, they are young people o 22 years interested in issues that are social, ethical and en ironmental and willing to engage in an uncon entional way, including by creating their own acti ity. There is also those who are attracted to the classical irm but who think that the critical distance is source o e iciency. inally, we hope to also attract students who are simply curious. Pro iles and aspirations will be aried, but all share the con iction that a high-le el training is as much control o tools, techniques and "best practices" as the ability to deli er them to their place and sometimes, to be reed.
This major responds to ery real questions o the students. We pro ide tools and a teaching both the ield and theoretical approach.
Any change, including the ision was a multinational...
Because nothing is played. A multinational company, or example, is more necessarily a Western "machin". Going to ha e to change our ethnocentric iew o things and realize that there are now the multinationals whose centre o gra ity is located in India or China. Nothing is irre ersible because there is no guarantee that these multinational South will ha e a Mimetic beha iour.
It's a haro on dogmatism...
Yes. We are tired o stereotypes.
Do you ha e yours that said the management guru Jim Collins about the teaching o the non-market sector
E eryone takes the same messianic speeches on the NGO/ irms/State trio. But how identi y practical tools Through obser ation, comparison, and the questioning o the existing categories. In act, should expand the Toolbox a ailable to us. As a lawyer, I think, or example, the social orms a ailable, ew in practice because the corporate law also has its gondola heads... Whene er there are new tools to associate the strictness with inno ation, it is gaining in sel -con idence and can mo e orward. It's all a State o mind is ound within this approach.
What tools could it be
It presents many existing elsewhere as marginal or e en re olutionary examples while they are not necessarily. Lean you on the case o Mondragon, a cooperati e Spanish o 50,000 people. This calls into question the old design that this legal orm is suited to low-growth economic acti ities. And why not also be interested in the anglo-saxon trust Why restrict the pro essional ci il society in some pro essions Why do we not abolish the limitations inherent in the social orm o acti ity The site is huge considering that we can re isit the capital-labour couple, be studying other unknown orms o management, deepen them and pass them.
